Northeast Times Spotlights Philly's Five Most Wanted

The Philadelphia Police Department’s Northeast Detectives Division has released its latest monthly Five Most Wanted list. The suspects named on the wanted list include:

Derrick Conway, 39, address unknown, for robbery.

On May 8 at about 7:45 p.m., Conway allegedly stole a diamond and gold necklace valued at almost $28,000 from the Neiman Marcus store at Franklin Mills mall. According to a store employee, the suspect posed as a customer and asked to view a series of items before grabbing the necklace from the hand of the salesperson and fleeing into the mall.

Conway is black, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and freckles.

Clarence Conyers, a.k.a. Mike Sherman, 37, address unknown, for witness intimidation, weapons violations and related offenses.

On May 25 at about 8:20 p.m. on the 8800 block of Torresdale Ave., Conyers allegedly threatened to shoot a woman and a man after the female had agreed to press assault charges against Conyers’ daughter in connection with an earlier confrontation.

After police had arrested the suspect’s daughter, Conyers allegedly rode a bicycle up to the victims, brandished a handgun in his waistband and said he’d shoot them if they pursued the charges. When the victims flagged down a police officer, the suspect allegedly ran away and ditched the weapon in a trash can.

Conyers is considered armed and dangerous. He is black, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 275 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and wore a full beard at the time of the incident.

Joseph Hughes, 31, of the 5900 block of Elsinore St., for robbery, conspiracy, assault and related offenses.

On May 30 at about 12:40 a.m., Hughes and an accomplice allegedly approached a man outside of a home on the 8100 block of Large St., assaulted him and stole his wallet and other items.

Hughes and the other suspect allegedly punched and kicked the victim in the head, face and ribs. In addition to the wallet, the robbers also took a Sirius radio and hair clippers, the victim said.

Hughes allegedly had a knife during the attack and is considered armed and dangerous. He is white, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes.

Jose Jackson, 29, of the 6300 block of Marsden St, for robbery, conspiracy and related offenses.

On April 14 at about 2:30 p.m., Jackson and five others allegedly entered a home on the 4600 block of Hawthorne St., beat up the male occupant and stole or damaged more than $1,300 worth of personal property.

The suspects allegedly punched, slapped and kicked the victim in the head, face and body and struck him with a remote control. They allegedly smashed his wireless phone and stole a designer bag as well as clothing.

Jackson is black, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds. He has black braided hair and brown eyes and had a thin moustache and beard at the time.

Jennifer Robertson, 28, address unknown, for robbery and conspiracy.

On June 4 at about 9 p.m., Robertson and an accomplice allegedly mugged a woman on the 3700 block of Mechanicsville Place.

The suspect allegedly got out of a vehicle and approached two women who were walking down the street. She allegedly asked the women for a wireless phone and a cigarette before grabbing the victim’s purse and jumping back into the waiting car, which was driven by a male.

Robinson is white, 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. She has red or auburn hair and green eyes.
