Allyson Schwartz’s First Priority

Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz (PA-13) praised the U.S.Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for launching a public awareness campaign to raise attention to the dangers of falling furniture and televisions. The campaign alerts parents to the danger of unsecured furniture and provides tips to help safeguard heavy furniture.

Schwartz also called for Congress to do its part to help protect children by passing key legislation which would prevent furniture and television tip-over accidents.

In April 2005 Schwartz introduced legislation to help prevent furniture tip-overs.

Mocking Schwartz for her initiative on what is judged to be a peripheral area, as detailed in her press release on September 12 - the same day that this blog featured a half-assed rant on the "high priority" topic of the Macedonia-Greece propaganda/naming dispute.

And placing this attack directly above a post on another "important" policy issue for the 13th District: The Notre Dame-Michigan football game this weekend.

I'm starting to believe that this whole campaign is an elaborate prank.

No more a prank that Schwartz "carpetbagging" her way into the 13th from NW Philly, which isn't in the 13th District, BTW.

this may be one of the most classless acts by a classless campaign - a little girl from jenkintown dies when furniture falls on top of her and her parents ask for help - " alert other parents that this could happen to them " - is all they ask of their reps - what does Raj do? mock their call to action - dispicable act on the part of this man.

I'd have to agree. I don't think
this is something she should be
criticized for.

Go ahead, trek. Trot out the "carpetbagger" issue, a real winner for your guy. It was such a problem for Schwartz in the last cycle that her margin over a candidate significantly better funded than Raj was only 14+ points. Of course, that will seem like a squeaker compared to the tally this time around.

Also, nice crazy post on Schwartz's "ties" to CAIR. I wonder why "Team Raj" scrubbed it from the campaign blog shortly after it was posted.
